We’re pleased to announce our second annual mobile conference, called MobileBeat 2009, on July 16, 2009 at the Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco.
The event centers on the rise of the “mobile application,” and the profound influence its having on our lives — and, by consequence, on the entire business world. Last year, we held the first MobileBeat conference right after the release of the iPhone 3G — and so were first to discuss the onset of the platform wars (Apple vs. Nokia/Symbian vs. Android, etc). That conference featured leading players, and sold out.
This year, the world has only seen those wars progress and intensify. The winners will be the ones who know how to serve users the best application experience and create the profitable eco systems for the industry.
Whether you use your phone to access maps, news, games, Facebook — or even your company’s intranet service — you’re likely to be doing it a lot more than you were in the past. And that’s driving explosive growth in data traffic — a doubling each year from 2008 through 2012.
June 5th: The AI Audit in NYC
Join us next week in NYC to engage with top executive leaders, delving into strategies for auditing AI models to ensure fairness, optimal performance, and ethical compliance across diverse organizations. Secure your attendance for this exclusive invite-only event.
Everyone wants a piece of the potential profits. Similarly, everyone want to avoid being road-kill as new players emerge and swallow revenue now owned by incumbents.
Carriers are are under pressure from players like Apple, Microsoft, Google — and well, just about everybody -– who are seeking to turn the old order upside-down. Carriers have so far owned application distribution, but the iPhone, Android and other operating systems are challenging them — with new devices and appealing application stores. Money will be made from mobile data plans and application sales. On the other hand, phone networks will be taxed with mobile usage. Who is going to win, and who is going to lose? These and other big questions will be asked at MobileBeat, including: Which apps are likely to be game-changing going forward, and which business models will emerge triumphant? How about advances in user interface, and advances in touch technology? How will that impact the game? And which application platforms will emerge successful: Will it be the mobile web app, or the native phone app?
MobileBeat will attract 400 senior executive to talk about the next wave of mobile innovation, and network in an intimate setting. It will feature keynotes and panel discussions, breakout sessions, and a start-up competition featuring up to ten early-stage mobile innovators, along with a networking reception.
Like last year, we’ll be awarding our Tesla award (pictured above, and named in honor of Nicola Tesla, who discovered early mobile communication) to the biggest, boldest ideas.
