Ubisoft continues support for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier with new multiplayer maps

The publisher is also adding a new multiplayer mode, co-op level, and some Achievements.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Ubisoft is preparing to load up more maps and modes for its latest third-person shooter in the Ghost Recon franchise. The French company announced plans for the Khyber Strike downloadable-content package for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

The publisher will release the pack for the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network store on October 9 for 800 Microsoft Points and $9.99, respectively. A PC release is due at an unspecified later date.

The new Khyber Strike pack includes three multiplayer maps, a multiplayer game mode, and a co-op map. It’ll also come with new Achievements (and Trophies), as well as an increased level cap for players’ characters.

The three maps are:

  • Switchback — A maze-like city with ancient buildings.
  • Palace — An old castle that’s been retrofitted to operate as a museum.
  • Transit — A Moscow metro station.

Takeover is the name of the new multiplayer mode. It’s similar to team deathmatch, but each side will get a score advantage if it captures an area objective.

Ubisoft gave Future Soldier’s co-op game, Guerrilla Mode, a fresh map, as well. Village, which support four players online and two players in local splitscreen, is set in the countryside and focuses on a centralized bus station.
