Flash games are so 2000. German developer Softgames just closed an investment for an undisclosed amount that will aid the expansion of its future-looking HTML5 gaming platform.
Software & Support Media and IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft invested in the developer so that it can build its Softgames Connect gaming hub.
“Softgames Connect gives developers worldwide the tools to cover more market space with their HTML5 games and to monetize them successfully,” Softgames chief executive officer Alexander Krug said. “The partnership with the IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft and Software & Support Media GmbH allows us to accelerate our already strong growth even further.”
The developer has produced nearly 1,500 games since 2006 and currently hosts over 100 free-to-play HTML5 games that support most touchscreen devices.
