New Torment game from developer InXile gets a subtitle and official webpage

Torment: Tides of Numenera's new website invites fans to join and offer input on its upcoming crowdfunding campaign.

Torment: Tides of Numenera

The follow up to Planescape: Torment is now officially called Torment: Tides of Numenera.

Developer InXile Entertainment launched the game’s official webpage today. It revealed the new title and invited fans to join the community and offer input on Torment’s upcoming crowdfunding campaign.

In January, GamesBeat discovered that InXile plans to set the new Torment in tabletop-game designer Monte Cook’s Numenera realm. The Tides of Numenera subtitle suggests the setting will play a big role throughout the adventure.

The company is also organizing a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the game. That may include Kickstarter or direct pledges through Torment’s webpage. The site has a Pledge tab, but it doesn’t provide interested backers with any way to contribute funds at this time.

We’ve asked the developer when and how it plans to start accepting fan contributions. We will update with its response.

InXile’s Brian Fargo and Colin McComb both hosted successfully funded projects on Kickstarter. Cook’s Numenera raised more than $500,000.
