Nvidia’s future is all about its Tegra mobile processor these days. So it is interesting that Nvidia said that it has replaced its Tegra chief today.
Phil Carmack, who was at Nvidia for 10 years and helped pioneer the Tegra platform, has left to become the CEO of an unnamed partner company. His successor is Deepu Talla, who will run the $750 million annual business.
Tegra chips are the brains of smartphones, tablets and other devices with high-end graphics.

Prior to joining Nvidia earlier this year as vice president of Tegra business development, Talla spent more than 10 years at Texas Instruments, most recently as general manager of the OMAP mobile computing business.
Nvidia also said it is combining Tegra’s design team into the larger engineering structure, which will now be fully centralized across the company. That move reflects the “central importance of Tegra” for PCs, gaming, cars, and more.
