Japanese publisher Capcom is mobilizing its most popular characters to tackle gaming on smartphones.
At its Capcom Gamer Network Conference event yesterday, the company revealed a new mobile title called Street Fighter X All Capcom. After taking on the mutants of X-Men and the fighters of Tekken, Street Fighter is looking inward and apparently attacking the rest of Capcom’s roster.
Capcom isn’t talking details about Street Fighter X All Capcom, but it did release an early piece of promotional art that shows Street Fighter’s Ryu and Chun Li squaring off against Darkstalker’s Morrigan and Mega Man’s X.
It’s unclear if this is even a straight-up fighting game. Street Fighter X All Capcom uses the superdeformed character art, which has large heads and small bodies, that Capcom uses in some of its puzzle games. Mobile platforms are perfect for an update to the publisher’s beloved Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo competitive puzzle game franchise.
