The next generation of Sony hardware officially debuts on Friday, but the company is rolling out its mobile companion app for PlayStation 4 right now.

PlayStation App is Sony’s new mobile software for connecting players with their friends and their games while on the go. It’s a free download, and it is available now on iOS and Android.

The app includes a suite of social features. Gamers can manage their friends list, chat with each other, and see invitations. PlayStation Network can push notifications and game alerts to the app. It can also load up important game info like guides and manuals.

The app also includes access to the PlayStation Store. Gamers can buy the latest PS4 titles through the software. The next-gen console will then wake up from standby mode and begin downloading the data even while the player is away from home.
