Etsy launches sellers-only app for iOS

Etsy’s customers have been able to purchase homemade wares from their phones since 2012. Now, Etsy’s sellers can list their products using their mobile devices, as well.

The website’s new app, Sell on Etsy, gives iOS users comprehensive tools to manage their shops on the go.

According to the app’s description, sellers can now perform myriad tasks away from their computers, including managing orders, communicating with customers, viewing stats, and creating new listings.

A majority of buyers and sellers access the site from their tablets and phones, according to the company’s blog. This becomes more interesting when compared to this time last year, when only a quarter of Etsy’s traffic came from mobile. Though sellers were previously able to manage their sites through the standard Etsy app, the company clearly recognized that it needed to provide more functionality for mobile users.
