Today Facebook announced that over 500 million people now use the company’s standalone messaging app ‘Messenger‘ every month.
This is a key milestone for Facebook, as the company’s risky unbundling strategy, a strategy which angered quite a few users, appears to have worked.
Facebook celebrated the news on its blog but cautioned that “there is so much left for us to do” — hinting, perhaps, at the company’s payments-related experiments.
