Now you can watch past e-sports tournaments on-the-go.
Twitch is a popular gaming-focused livestreaming service, with over 65 million viewers and 1 million streamers. Today, the company announced on its blog that videos on-demand (VOD) are now available to view through its mobile app. VODs include any past broadcasts or highlight videos pulled from those streams. You can find them by going to a channel’s activity feed.
Owners of iOS devices just have to update the app to enable the new feature. But Android users have a bit more legwork. Twitch had to make some changes to the Android version to “address a possible security vulnerability,” so you have to delete the old app and install the new one from the Google Play store.
Archives of full streams are only available for a limited amount of time before Twitch deletes them. Non-premium users can keep their old videos for 14 days, while Twitch Turbo and Partner accounts have 60 days to export them to another video site like YouTube.
