Microsoft today announced the availability of a new preview build of Windows 10 Mobile for Windows Insiders. This new update, Build 10512, mostly fixes bugs and makes minor improvements — but there’s nevertheless some excitement involved, too, given that Windows 10 is finally available to everyone.
Screenshots of this new Windows 10 Mobile build have leaked in recent days. But the leaks haven’t revealed many changes. Indeed, the biggest improvement seems to be in the new capabilities of the Photos app for Windows 10 Mobile.
“I expect the builds to be out more frequently again as we go forward from here. Our major focus on Windows 10 Mobile right now is on improvements to core quality,” Gabe Aul, vice president of the engineering systems team in Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, wrote in a blog post on the news.
The Photos app in the new build now allows you to set the lock screen image and the background image. The build also fixes problems with text message notifications, the Camera app, and the touchscreen’s responsiveness after phone calls, among other things. Note that the build comes with a few known issues. For one thing, the Movies & TV app isn’t working.
