Google today announced that its YouTube app for iOS now supports Google Cardboard. Google made a similar update to its YouTube app for Android in November, and now it’s available on the other major mobile operating system.

The new feature arrives in version 11.18 of YouTube for iOS, which is available on the App Store.

This is a natural update for Google to make because YouTube, with more than 1 billion active users, is so popular, and because the company has been pushing its Cardboard platform to be a great and inexpensive choice in comparison to the systems like the more powerful HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

To check out the new capability, turn on a video in the YouTube app, touch the screen, hit the vertically stacked three dots in the top right corner, and select Cardboard. Then throw your iPhone inside a Cardboard virtual reality headset.
