Microsoft today announced the release of a new Windows 10 build for PCs and mobile for people participating in the fast ring of the Windows Insider Program.
The news about build 14372 comes literally one day after Microsoft announced the release of build 14371 for both PCs and mobile. This is about the fastest they come in terms of Windows update cycles.
The big new thing in this build is the availability of an Evernote Web Clipper extension for Windows 10’s Edge browser. “Clip the web pages you want to keep. Save them in Evernote and easily find them on any device,” Dona Sarkar, a software engineer in Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, wrote in a blog post. The extension requires build 14372 or a newer build.
There are a few known issues. Just like with yesterday’s build, in today’s build, the network and VPN buttons in the taskbar flyout don’t take you to those sections in Settings. The Device Portal isn’t working. And the new Evernote extension, of all things, has some problems. “The Evernote Web Clipper might not load on certain websites and there is no thumbnail image when clipping bookmarks. There are also various visual issues,” Sarkar wrote. (For known issues in the Windows 10 Mobile preview build, see the blog post.)
