Google is beefing up the number of ride-hailing options available through Google Maps in the U.S.

This news follows the launch of a new ride-services tab within the Google Maps mobile app back in March, whereby navigators could compare etaxi options alongside their usual public transport, biking, or walking options.
Globally, this included the likes of Hailo, Gett, Ola Cabs, and 99Taxis depending on the market, while in the U.S. users had only Uber as an option.
Now, those in the U.S. will have two more options when searching for direction in Google Maps — Lyft, which will now appear as an option across the U.S., and Gett, which is limited to those in New York City.
