iPhone event gives world its first look inside Apple Park’s Steve Jobs Theater

Steve Jobs Theater

After almost four years of construction and billions of dollars, Apple threw open the doors today to at least one corner of its new Apple Park headquarters.

The Steve Jobs Theater is, for the first time, the site of the company’s annual iPhone event. Apple received permission from the City of Cupertino to host the event at the last minute as it scrambled to finish enough construction.

As guests and the press began to filter in, they immediately began sharing images of the facility, which includes a 1,000-person underground auditorium.

“Memories of him have come rushing back as we prepared for this event,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook on stage, of Jobs. “We dedicate this theater to Steve, because we loved him.”
