It’s that spooky time of year, and here’s something you may find horrifying: Blizzard is pulling out last year’s Overwatch Halloween event again. On October 10, Halloween Terror will return to the company’s class-based hero shooter. It will once again give players the chance to unlock skins that match the pumpkins-and-monsters aesthetic, but Blizzard is also promising to deliver new content as part of this return to Halloween Terror.
Halloween Terror will run through November 2, and you can expect it to bring back the wave-based horde mode that was in last year’s event. In 2016’s Halloween Terror, players fight off Dr. Junkenstein’s (Junkrat’s) army of the dead. You must also face down minibosses in the form of Roadhog made up to look like Frankenstein and a Dracula-like Reaper. The mode enables you and three friends to take on these foes in multiple difficulty levels that will get you various rewards.

And monsters appear
A great evil gathers
And Halloween draws near… pic.twitter.com/98CXWqQ0gc— Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) October 3, 2017
Blizzard isn’t sharing what is new in Halloween Terror 2017 — at least not yet, but we can already see that Reaper and McCree are getting new skins based on the artwork that Blizzard shared on Twitter. This makes sense because Reaper seems like the kind of guy who takes Halloween way too seriously and McCree would probably throw the biggest costume party on campus. Hopefully we’ll see other new skins as well as a remix to the way the mode works itself, but we’ll find out those details on October 10.
