Electronic Arts announced today that mobile role-playing game Galaxy of Heroes will get its first character from Star Wars: The Last Jedi sometime in December before the film releases December 15.
EA clarified that this will be character that is already available in Galaxy of Heroes but in their Last Jedi garb. So expect something like Luke Skywalker in his long beard and robes or Rey with her hair down. Additions like this can keep players engaged with the mobile game. The cross-promotion between it and the anticipated film could benefit both. Galaxy of Heroes is the No. 204 ranked game in the U.S. Apple App Store, according to App Annie.
A ship from the cartoon Star Wars: Rebels, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Star Destroyer Chimaera, will be available at some point this month. EA is also promising Territory Wars, a new competitive mode that will pit player guilds against each other.
“In this mode, you will play both a defensive and offensive game, one in which you must determine which parts of your collection you think will stand and fight for your territories and which you want to take down your opponents,” EA explains in a blog post.
