Sony revealed during its Paris Games Week event that Guacamelee 2 is coming to the PlayStation 4 “soon-ish.”
The first Guacamelee came out in 2013. It was a PlayStation 3 and Vita exclusive, but it eventually came out for other platforms like the Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. It also released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Guacamelee was a Metroidvania-style game, a 2D platformer that focuses on a nonlinear world and exploration. It achieved claim from fans and critics thanks to its unique, Lucha libre-inspired grappling mechanics.
The sequel will introduce four-player co-op play and a grappling hook mechanic.
