iHealth Lab raises $25M
Connected health devices like glucose meters and heart rate monitors are becoming more important, because the cloud technology that might connect them to healthcare systems is becoming more advanced. One of the most prolific smart health devices makers is iHealth Lab Inc. Today the company says that it has secured $25 million in venture capital from Xiaomi Ventures in its first institutional round of funding. Xiaomi Ventures is a unit of one of the China’s biggest smartphone makers, Xiaomi.

SchoolMint grabs $2.2M
These days, everything could use a healthy dose of technology for a smoother experience, and school enrollment and admissions is no exception. SchoolMint, now with $2.2 million in new funding, provides a system for schools to run their enrollments, admissions, lotteries, waitlists, and so on, in a more efficient way by bringing the entire process online. Today, 21 schools in ten states are using SchoolMint to enrolled hundreds of thousands of students in public, private, and charter K-12 schools. Runa Capital, New School Ventures Fund, and Crosslink Capital led the round, with Kapor Capital, Imagine K12, Romulus Capital, Fresco Capital, EdMentor VC, Jared Kopf and other angels also chipping in.

DroneDeploy gets $2M
DroneDeploy, a startup that’s been cooking up software to manage several drones from one central place, said today that it’s secured a seed round totaling $2 million. And as of today, any company can now buy the startup’s software, according to a statement. The software can control cameras affixed to unmanned aerial vehicles, access their photo and video feeds, and prevent collisions, all across LTE connections.
