In preparation for the solar eclipse that has just begun, folks wanting to make sure they see the totality have been scouting for the best locations across the U.S.
And according to Yelp, that means big booms in tourism for some small towns. Yelp analyzed data around searches for towns in the totality path and found that Madras, Oregon had seen the sharpest increases in searches over the past few days.
After Madras, the biggest spikes in searches were seen in Casper, Wyoming; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Clayton, Georgia; Lincoln, Nebraska; Jefferson City, Missouri; Carbondale, Illinois; Paducah, Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee; Clayton, Georgia; and Columbia, South Carolina.
With the exception of Nashville, the wave of tourists will be an unusual phenomenon for most of these cities.
