These Rules of Conduct are guidelines for acceptable behavior in the Forum, in an effort to ensure civil discourse among members. VentureBeat will address events or situations that may arise but are not covered under these guidelines on a case by case basis. VentureBeat reserves the sole right to ban, censor, suspend or otherwise intervene with users, posts, or content that are deemed offensive, harmful, or in violation of these guidelines. Registered members are free to post links to content they feel is germane to the Forum and its mission, but VentureBeat may, at its discretion, blacklist certain outlets from the Forum. VentureBeat expects registered Forum members to act in good faith at all times.
Do:
- Show respect to all in the forum
- Ensure that links are from trustworthy sources
- Post from original sources whenever possible
- Stay on-topic, in the appropriate forum area
- Tag posts appropriately for tracking purposes (eg, “AI,” “machine learning,” “neural network,” etc.)
- When critical, be constructive
- Engage with other posts and forum users
Do not:
- Post, promote, encourage, or distribute any illegal content or illegal activities
- Post sensitive information about anyone, including any other Forum user
- Share any conversations from the Forum with anyone outside the Forum, including screenshots, without the direct consent of VentureBeat (for example, it’s unacceptable to tweet a screenshot of a conversation, but you may wish to share comments with your team for informational or educational purposes)
- Repost deleted links, content, or comments
- Troll or instigate or participate in flame wars
- Insult, harass, threaten, demean, embarrass, insult, slander others
- Engage in ad hominem attacks
- Post any content or comments that could be considered not safe for work
- Post any content or comments that could be considered hate speech or suggests or instigates violence against anyone
- Unfairly disparage other companies, their products, or their employees
- Engage in inappropriate self-promotion
