Well, this is … interesting. Research in Motion has just released a strange music video serenading BlackBerry developers and encouraging them to stick with RIM for its new BlackBerry 10 operating system.
RIM took the stage today in San Jose, Calif., to show off the latest features of its BlackBerry 10 operating system, which is set to launch in the first quarter of 2013. RIM CEO Thorsten Heins guaranteed developers that their BlackBerry 10 applications would make at least $10,000 in their first year. If qualified apps don’t generate $10,000, Heins said RIM would make up the difference.
The video also shows the company’s “love” for its developers. It features a middle-aged band playing a song similar to REO Speedwagon’s “Keep On Loving You” with reworked lyrics, such as “And we’re gonna keep on loving you / Our updated SDK is really cool / The API’s complete / We just want to keep on loving you.”
