AOL.com is giving its website a design refresh today.
Once a portal to the Internet for many, AOL.com now predominantly serves as a news and entertainment site. The redesign caters to its growing number of mobile visitors, which have shot up nearly 80 percent in the past year. All told, AOL.com has 31.3 million unique views every month; roughly a third of those come from mobile.
The new look also puts a focus on video content, which AOL.com has spent a lot of time and money growing. In the past couple of years AOL has bulked up its video ad tech through acquisitions like that of Adapt.tv and Vidible, and today’s site design puts some of those tools to work.
