Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is arriving today in Silicon Valley, where she’ll be hosted at a fundraiser by Apple CEO Tim Cook.
The location of the event remains under wraps. But earlier this summer, BuzzFeed reported that people invited were being asked to contribute up to $50,000.
Cook has tried to strike a non-partisan stance, hosting a fundraiser for Republican Rep. Paul Ryan earlier this year. But he’s also made no secret of the fact that he’s not a fan of Donald Trump.
According the San Jose Mercury News, Cook is co-hosting the event with Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives. The money will go to the Hillary Victory Fund, which then gives those funds to Clinton’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and the Democratic Party.

Indeed, with the exception of Peter Thiel, Trump has failed to gain much support in Silicon Valley. The fundraising gap between Democrats and Republicans in the tech epicenter remains heavily lopsided.
In addition to Cook, the San Jose Mercury News reports that Amy Rao, CEO of Integrated Archive Systems, is hosting a fundraiser for Clinton at Rao’s Palo Alto home today. Rao has been one of Clinton’s biggest tech supporters for years now.
