The anti-tracking social network Ello just created new SFW options in its settings, so users don’t have to look at people’s uncensored pictures (read: nudie pics) if they don’t want to.
Ello has said in the past that it will not censor content, so users are free to post graphic images to their hearts’ content. However, in order to appease people who may be offended by these images, Ello had to make some concessions. In the settings users can now mark whether they’d like to post adult content and whether they’d like to be able to view adult content. Images marked as NSFW will be pixelated for users who don’t want to see them.
In an email to users, Ello wrote:

But not everyone wants to see adult content, so we’ve made a way for you to turn it on or turn it off on your settings page. If you’re someone who regularly posts adult stuff, please mark your profile NSFW. (If you don’t, we’ll ask you politely. If you still don’t, you’ll risk having your account frozen. See the Ello Rules section.) Bottom line, be respectful of others. Be cool and everyone gets to have fun on Ello.
