Get ready to update your iPhone.

Amid all of the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch news today, Apple announced that iOS 8 will be available for download on September 17.

The update will support the iPhone 4S and newer iPhones, the iPad 2 and beyond, and the fifth-generation iPod Touch.

For the most part, iOS 8 looks like an under-the-hood revamp of last year’s update. You’ll be able to interact with notifications right from the lock screen and change your iPhone’s keyboard, for example. Apple is also opening up the platform a bit more to developers: Apps will be able to share data with each other, which is something only special apps could do in the past.
