A leaked, purportedly authentic Walgreens memo says Apple Pay will launch in stores next Saturday — two days after Apple’s October 16 press event.
The memo, below, gives store managers instructions “in preparation for the launch of Apple Pay on October 18,” and pitches that the integration will “reinforce [Walgreens’] position as a leader an [sic] innovator in the mobile world.”

Walgreens counts among a slew of high-profile Apple Pay retail partners, including Disney, Nike, McDonalds, and Whole Foods.
Apple is expected to debut new Macs and iPads during its press event next week, and if the above memo is accurate, Apple may also plan to formally launch Apple Pay. OS X Yosemite could also debut next week, as the operating system is now in its final stages of development.
