Taxi groups are generally not fans of Uber. It appears that the debate over the future of transportation is about to share the same level of political civility as presidential campaigns. This week, at a Philadelphia Parking Authority board meeting, Alex Friedman, general manager of a local cab company and president of the PT Taxi Association equated Uber with a terrorist organization:
“I try to equate this illegal operation of Uber X as a terroristic act, like ISIS invading the Middle East. It is exactly the same menace,” he said.

While Uber may mean death to taxis, that’s quite a long way from trying to overthrow the free world through mass killings. And Uber’s efforts yesterday to find homes for kittens shows it’s doing all it can to keep a friendly image.
