GitHub is determined to make its mark in education.

The popular code repository announced a new service today designed to help computer science teachers manage their courses. It’s no coincidence that the service, dubbed Classroom, also introduces students to GitHub’s reason for existence: software version control.

GitHub first made its education ambitions public last year, when the company announced it would give away basic services and discounts to schools.
