Circle Medical raises $2.9M to help promote its on-demand primary care service
Circle Medical, which acts as a “concierge” for health care, announced today that it has raised a $2.9 million seed round, led by Collaborative Fund. The startup said that the new funds will be used to increase brand awareness and market the company.
Other participants in this round include Tencent, Real Ventures, Kima Ventures, Y Combinator partner Paul Buchheit, and YouTube cofounder Jawed Karim. An unidentified AngelList syndicate was responsible for contributing $500,000, which the company is calling “a quick and painless way to top up the round.”

Sports training startup VoltAthletics bulks up with $1M investment
VoltAthletics, the company behind a sports and body resistance training software platform, announced today that it scored over $1 million for its latest funding round from undisclosed investors, according to a Form D filling.
Founded by former college athletes Dan Giuliani and Trevor Watkins, VoltAthletics raised more than $600,000 from angel investors last year.
