Scentbird, a startup that lets users try luxury perfumes for a month before they buy them, announced today that it took in a $2.8 million investment.
Based in New York, Scentbird charges customers $14.95 a month for an 8 millilitre bottle of the scent of their choice. Carolina Herrera, Bvlgari, and Paco Rabanne are among the 450 designers that users can get access to, without the price tag commitment of a full bottle.
As the user adds comments and rates different colognes and perfumes, Scentbird can make personalized recommendations. The startup has called itself the “Netflix for Perfume.”
Scentbird has raised at least $3.8 million since its seed round last August.
