How to sign up
To register for a forum account, contact the Community Manager directly at communitysupport@venturebeat.com.
How to post
Head to venturebeat.com/forum/ai/. To make a new post, scroll down to Create A New Topic, enter the URL that links to the content you’re posting, and click Submit. When the upload is successful, a red button will appear that says, “View New Post.”
How to comment and tag
Click the “View New Post” button, and when you’re in your new post, add pertinent terms in the Tags bar. Avoid tag-stuffing, but do add two or three pertinent tags for categorization and search purposes, separated by commas. For example, “AI, machine learning, Amazon” would be great. “AI, machine learning, machines, learning, artificial intelligence, Amazon, Jeff Bezos, controversy” would not.
If you want to be notified when others reply to your post or comment, tick the box next to “Notify me of follow-up replies via email.” Click Submit.
How to add an image to a comment
Click the “img” button in the edit area above the body of your comment. When prompted, enter the URL of the image you wish to post. (You can’t upload images to the forum at this time.) Click OK, enter a description of the image, and click OK again. Then click the Submit button to the lower right of the comment body.
How to add a link within a comment
In a comment, you may add a link. Click the “link” button in the edit are above the body of your comment. When prompted, enter the URL you want to link to; below that, you can enter text for the URL if you wish. Click OK, and then click Submit.
How to edit a comment
If you need to edit a comment after you’ve posted it, simply click the Edit button in the area above the body of your comment. Make any changes you need to, and click Submit to save them.
How to delete a comment
To delete a comment, simply click the Trash button in the edit are above the body of your comment. Then click Submit. If you clicked Trash in error, simply click the Restore button to revert back and save your comment.
By default, the forum will save your deleted comments in an archive so you can salvage them if you like. To delete a comment permanently, click Trash, and then click Delete in the edit area, and click OK when prompted.
