Dragon Age: Inquisition wins Game of the Year

LAS VEGAS — Electronic Arts’ Dragon Age: Inquisition won Game of the Year tonight at the Dice Awards.

The Dice Awards are like the Oscars of gaming, and they come at the close of the Dice Summit, the elite game industry event in Las Vegas. The victory for Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was created by EA’s BioWare label, was an upset for Warner Bros.’ Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which won eight other awards.

The other nominees were Destiny, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Far Cry 4, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

Destiny from Bungie won four awards during the night. Dragon Age, by comparison, came out with just a couple of victories. Dragon Age: Inquisition had a huge amount content, with nearly 100 hours of game play in a virtual fantasy world. It also won for best role-playing game.
