Heroes of the Storm gets more Overwatch love with Ana, Junkrat, and Volskaya Foundry

Blizzard revealed today that two new characters and a new map inspired by Overwatch are coming to its multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) for PC, Heroes of the Storm. Junkrat and Ana are joining the fight, while Volskaya Foundry will be the new battleground. We don’t know when the update with all this new content will launch.

Heroes of the Storm combines character from all of Blizzard’s properties. Overwatch, however, is one of Blizzard’s hottest games. The team-based shooter has more than 30 million players after launching in May 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Adding more Overwatch content to Heroes of the Storm can attract the shooter’s fans to the MOBA.

Ana is sniper that can heal her allies with her long-range shots, while Junkrat is an explosives maniac that shoots grenades and lays traps. Volskaya Foundry is similar to Overwatch’s Volskaya Industries map, which takes place in a snowy Russian robot factory.

The update will also include new skins and mounts. Heroes of the Storm is a free-to-play game with a loot chest system for unlocking cosmetics. Adding more unlockables to the game encourages players to spend more money.
