OnLive has launched the fantasy role-playing game Rogue Legacy on its game-streaming service.
The title is the first in a while to debut on the service and comes from Toronto, Canada-based indie game startup Cellar Door Games. Rogue Legacy is available now for instant play on PCs, Macs, Android tablets, and TVs that support the OnLive Game Service.
OnLive was a high-flying startup that embraced cloud gaming, but it soared too high, ran out of money, and went through a change in ownership last summer. Now it is gunning for a comeback, albeit in a more low-key manner. The service uses cloud technology to enable you to play high-end games, like Rogue Legacy, on any connected device.
The new game pays homage to the legendary 1980s dungeon crawler, Rogue. Rogue Legacy is an action-platformer with procedurally generated levels and permadeath. That means it’s an endless experience that isn’t easy to finish. You can buy the game on the OnLive Game Service for $14.99, and it is also available via subscription options.
