Even in Early Access, PUBG has been a huge hit on PC. It has already sold more than 13 million copies, according to its studio, Bluehole. The developer also noted that it has had more than 1.5 million concurrent players on Steam, a record that beat Valve’s Dota 2, the second most popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA, a type of strategy game) for the PC in the world.
PC gaming thrives mostly on digital sales. Digital is still an important part of the console market, but many players still buy boxed games at stores like GameStop or more discount department stores like Target and Walmart. Having a physical version on Xbox One will make PUBG visible to a larger audience.
