The seven user-generated wonders of Trove’s multiverse
Weeping Skull by Fargin: "Fargin’s skull and castle are quite possibly the most detailed and gigantic structures in the game. Don’t forget to stop by the miniature McDonald's."
In Trove, an upcoming crafting game from developer Trion Worlds, a handful of players have already started dreaming big. They’re the first to create massive new monuments within Trove based on little more than the game’s open-ended design, thousands of collectible materials, and hours of free time.
Trove often feels like a combination of Minecraft’s creativity and Zelda’s cheerful adventuring. By enabling players to build vast new spaces and structures, Trove now contains dozens of awe-inspiring masterpieces for other players to explore and plunder.
We asked Andrew Krausnick, Trove’s producer and project lead, to pick his seven favorite user-created Wonders that show off the early community’s creativity and diligence. Check out the slideshow below to view them, along with the creator’s name and Krausnick’s guided tour. If you’re inspired to create your own blocky monument to rival the Pyramids or Great Wall, you can sigh up for Trove’s alpha program through their website.
Weeping Skull by Fargin: “Fargin’s skull and castle are quite possibly the most detailed and gigantic structures in the game. Don’t forget to stop by the miniature McDonald’s.”
Pyramid Maze by Quetzacoatlus: “Solve the maze and reach the tower in the middle. From here, you can watch others make their own attempt [at the maze] and share loot in the community chest.”
Windmill Castle by Shaun: “A quiet windmill and town surround this castle. Stop by the town to craft before exploring the castle proper.”
Castle Kingdom by Gilnidor: “Gilnidor’s temple and castle are just the first stop when exploring this Kingdom. Many secrets await the inquisitive adventurer.”
Fungus Grotto by Mr. Mover: “The Fungus Grotto is a scenic getaway and great starting point for any adventure. This cave features flowing water, crystal lights, and every type of portal in the game.”
Geometric World by Krabcat: “These geometric shapes prove that not everyone is out to reconstruct living quarters.”
Glass Sphere by NorTroll: “A massive glass sphere frames the sky for those within. How long did it take to gather the materials for all that glass? Only NorTroll knows.”
