All hands on deck — we’re got an imminent launch.

Wargaming announced today that its free-to-play multiplayer online action game World of Warships will launch on September 17 for PC. This is the third in a series of war vehicle-based combat games for the company, following World of Tanks and World of Warplanes.

“Based on our open beta success with World of Warships, Wargaming is poised to launch our next big game,” stated Fred Menou, the head of global publishing at Wargaming, in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “With 2 million participants and the average player spending three hours a day in-game we have an armada of sea captains ready to take the helm of the ultimate naval combat game.”

World of Tanks and World of Warplanes have generated serious revenue for Wargaming. World of Tanks saw a console release on Xbox One in July.
