Cablevision strikes deal to become HBO Now’s first cable partner in April

New Yorkers without Apple TV now have another avenue for getting HBO’s new streaming service thanks to a deal with Cablevision.

Cablevision and HBO signed an agreement that will allow Optimum Online customers, an Internet provider in the New York area, the opportunity to subscribe to HBO Now starting in April. Price descriptions will follow in the next few weeks.

HBO has already inked a deal with Apple TV to offer streamed HBO programming for $14.99 a month.

This is the first cable provider to get on board with HBO’s online-only content channel.
