Check out the trailer for Mike Judge’s new HBO comedy ‘Silicon Valley’

Soon there will once again be a TV show about startups, but this time its coming from King of the Hill and Beavis & Butthead creator Mike Judge. (Also, it’s actually OK to laugh at this one, unlike Bravo’s failed reality attempt.)

The show, called Silicon Valley, follows a male-heavy cast of tech geeks from across the industry — a group of startup founders, executives of a huge Google-like corporation, a bored mega-rich investor, etc. And based on Judge’s previous work, I fully expect Silicon Valley to make light of the ridiculous things in this industry. As the nitpicking geeks that we are, I doubt we’ll be able to full appreciate it until years after the episodes air. (The same is true for King of the Hill, Idiocracy, and Office Space.)

The show also seems like it’ll at least attempt to integrate the existing culture of the industry, too. For instance, Re/code’s Kara Swisher is scheduled to make an appearance in one of the later episodes. I imagine we’ll also see cameos from other Valley entrepreneurs and founders. And again, this is from freaking Mike Judge, so I’ll be watching it regardless.

Check out the trailer for the series, which we’ve embedded below, for a closer look. The first of eight episodes of Silicon Valley is scheduled to premiere April 6 on HBO.
