Twice helps people sell their clothes consignment-style through its mobile app. The company received $18.5 million in funding today.
Twice invites anyone to send in their old, but still good clothing to be sold through the company’s mobile apps. It will send you a shipping bag in which you can put your to-be-sold clothing. Twice will then take the clothing, evaluate it like any consignment shop would, and then take professional photos of the items to improve its chances of being bought. You are then paid up-front for the clothing Twice plans to sell.
The company, which is based in San Francisco, Calif., has already gone through 30,000 pieces of inventory after launching in 2012.
Competitors of the service include other second-hand apps such as Poshmark, eBay, Threadflip, and more.
