Google+ just rolled out a couple of sweet photo and video features.

Starting this week, Google+ will produce for users a horizontally scrollable timeline of pictures, videos, and maps called Stories. It will become available initially on the web and on Android; iOS support will come later, Google director of product management Anil Sabharwal wrote in a blog post earlier today.

And Google+ Movies unites users’ pictures and movies into a single video. It’s reminiscent of the Look Back video feature that Facebook came out with for its 10th anniversary earlier this year.

Given that Google+ already brings intelligence when it comes to showing only the best pictures with its Highlights feature, these new ways to show off user-generated content could actually be elegant.

The only hang-up for the new Google+ features? You have to upload your media to Google+.
