The Twitter-owned client for viewing tweet streams in columns today announced that its apps are getting typeahead and people search functionality, important features that should help you find what you’re looking for faster.
Now, when you visit the TweetDeck search box, you’ll find a dynamic drop-down menu that changes as you type. The enhanced search box contains all of your previous searches on launch. It also works in real-time to autocomplete your queries and simultaneously look for matching Twitter users, which means results get better with each character that you type. You can also directly interact with tweets and accounts displayed from inside the search box.
Basically, the overall search experience inside TweetDeck now resembles what you find in Twitter’s mobile applications.
The search improvements are available today in the last version of TweetDeck for Chrome. They will make their way to TweetDeck’s web, PC, and Mac versions in the weeks ahead.
