One day after confirming a number of high-profile departures, Twitter cofounder and CEO Jack Dorsey has taken to the social network again to confirm more HR news: Leslie Berland, former EVP of advertising, marketing, and digital partnerships at American Express (Amex), is the new Twitter chief marketing officer (CMO). This confirms rumors that first started to circulate earlier this week.

Twitter lost key execs just yesterday from product, media, engineering, and HR. These departures followed a large round of layoffs last year after Dorsey returned to steady ye olde Twitter ship. With stock tanking after a seemingly never-ending barrage of bad news, Twitter was due for this bit of good news that brings its long search to find someone to head up marketing to a close.
